2-Factor Authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your ZenNewUi account. By using an authenticator app, you ensure that even if your password is compromised, your account remains secure. This manual will guide you through the process of setting up and using 2FA with an authenticator app.


Prerequisites


Before you begin, make sure you have:

  • An active ZenNewUi account.
  • A smartphone with an authenticator app installed (e.g., Google Authenticator, Authy, Microsoft Authenticator).


Step-by-Step Setup Guide


Enable 2FA in ZenNewUi

1. Open your web browser and navigate to the ZenNewUi login page.

2. Enter your username and password, then click Login.

3. Once logged in, click on your profile icon in the top-right corner of the system interface to open the profile menu.

4. In the profile menu, select Your Profile.

5. In the Profile Information tab, click on Manage two factor authorization.

6. A modal will appear asking you to enter your password to continue.

7. Enter your password and click Confirm.

8. After confirming your password, you will see the option to enable 2FA.

9. Click the Enable button to start the 2FA setup process.



Configure Your Authenticator App


10. After clicking Enable, a QR code will appear on the screen.

11. Open your authenticator app on your smartphone.

12. Select the option to add a new account. This is usually done by clicking a "+" or "Add" button.

13. Use your smartphone camera to scan the QR code displayed on the ZenNewUi setup page.

14. If you are unable to scan the QR code, you can manually enter the provided secret key into your authenticator app.


Verify and Complete Setup


15. After scanning the QR code, your authenticator app will generate a 6-digit verification code.

16. Enter this code into the Verification Code field on the ZenNewUi setup page.

17. Click Verify to complete the setup process.

18. If the code is correct, you will see a confirmation message indicating that 2FA is successfully enabled.




Backup Codes:


19. You will also be given recovery codes. Store these codes in a secure place.

20. These codes can be used to recover access to your account if you lose access to your authenticator app.




Using 2FA for Login


1. Navigate to the ZenNewUi login page.

2. Enter your username and password, then click Login.

3. After entering your credentials, you will be prompted to enter a 6-digit code from your authenticator app.

4. Open your authenticator app, find the code for ZenNewUi, and enter it into the 2FA Code field.

5. Click Verify to complete the login process.

6. If the code is correct, you will be logged into your ZenNewUi account.



Managing 2FA


Disabling 2FA


1. Login to your ZenNewUi account.

2. Go to Account Settings > Security.

3. In the 2-Factor Authentication (2FA) section, click the Disable button.

4. Follow the prompts to confirm the action.



Recovering Account Without 2FA


If you lose access to your authenticator app, you can recover your account using backup codes or by contacting ZenNewUi support.


Use Backup Codes: During the initial 2FA setup, you were provided with backup codes. Use one of these codes on the 2FA prompt screen.


Contact Support: If you do not have backup codes, contact ZenNewUi support for assistance. Be prepared to verify your identity.



Troubleshooting


Incorrect Verification Code:


  • Ensure the time on your smartphone is synchronized with the internet.
  • Check if the code is for the correct account and try again.


Authenticator App Issues:


  • Update or reinstall your authenticator app if you encounter persistent issues.


Lost Device:


  • Use backup codes to access your account and disable 2FA temporarily until you set it up on a new device.
