• I created an entity but cannot see it anywhere?

After you have created an entity, you need to go to user rights to  access that company. Only the admin can do this. You can also give access to other users but they will need to have access to that same new entity.

  • Why do I need to create counterparties and how do I do it?

It is recommended  to have counterparties in the company register. This way, you can, for example, run reports based on certain counterparty or follow counterparty exposure against one another.

A counterparty is created when you create a company with an external entity.

  • What do I do with bank accounts and why is the system suggesting me to create one after I have created a new entity?

If you are using an accounting module or you are following transactions across multiple bank accounts, it is advisable to create these accounts in the system you currently use.

But if you are not doing either of those (i.e. just making postings from reports), then the bank account information is not relevant to you. In this case, you can just create one bank account per each currency you are using. Just skip the page when the system suggests  to create a new bank after creating a new entity.

  • Where do I need portfolios?

Portfolios can be used to categorize your data in reporting and route accounting postings to different accounts. An example of this is hedges that belong to hedge accounting and hedges that are out of hedge accounting. Those should belong to different portfolios.

At some point, you might realize that you need a portfolio. In this case, just use one default portfolio for all transactions.

  • How to create a new user?

Please note that only admin can create a new user. To initiate the process, go to User's page > Add new.

  • How can delete a person that left the company?

You are unable to delete a user. But you can put a user to Inactive mode. Following this step,  he/she will no longer be able to log into the system anymore. An admin can do this from each User’s page.
