Sometimes you might need a cross currency that is not imported. If you do not get this data from a new source, you can use existing currency pairs to calculate a new cross pair. For example, if you are importing ECB fixing rates such as EURUSD, EURSEK and EURNOK but you would also need USDSEK and USDNOK, you can use the existing EURUSD, EURSEK and EURNOK to calculate the USDSEK and USDNOK. However, it is important to remember that these are not official rates; for example, on 1.10.2019, the Riksbanken rate for USDSEK was 9,89 and by using the ECB rates to calculate the USDSEK we get 9,91.
How to enable cross currency calculations:
1. ) Open the Foreign exchange rates submenu.
2.) Click the Make Pair button. It requires that you have the role Create Fx Rate by default (the Front Office duty has this enabled).
3.) Choose base currency, Choose converting currency and Choose referencing currency from the list.
4.) Save the value chosen. From this day forward, the rate starts updating automatically once it finds the rate for that pair.
